If anything is going to put the lid on this lingering economic downslide, it will be the loosening up of credit. The same people that were operating loan mills in the early 2000’s are now the misers of the 2010’s. Here and there, some of them are beginning to loosen the purse strings and making unsecured business lines of credt available. Now, the trick will be to have them offer these lines to companies smaller than the Fortune 500. There are also loan brokers out there advising some lesser sized companies how to go about receiving this kind of help.

I like to take pride in offering the public the single most pure hoodia available. My reputation means the world to me. This is why when I became informed about the prowess of the Manitoba carpenters, I had to go see for myself how worthy they were of their reputation. I must say, after seeing the high level of their craftsmanship, they are actually underestimated. I felt like went back 500 years to the days where if you weren’t a master of woodworking you were not worthy of the title “carpenter.” It did my heart good to verify how outstanding these people were.

Here’s one for the record books. My cousin tells me his five year old son’s heroes are not guys like Superman or Wayne Gretsky but Manitoba carpenters. I laughed as if he were pulling my leg. When he convinced me he was dead serious, my jaw dropped. He said his son was mesmerized watching them work on the garage he was having built on his property. They had to pry him away to get him to go to school or even to eat supper. The kicker was when one of the carpenters said that was exactly the way he reacted when, as a child, he watched his first construction job. It certainly looks like we have a carpenter coming up in ten or twelve years.

I don’t know the difference between Manitoba carpenters and carpenter ants. I just go on living in my narrow little world. I used to listen to world news, until I realized it ruined my world. I was a believer in what goes around comes around. Then one day, I faced the hard cold reality that life isn’t fair, it just is. Excuse me for letting off steam, but I’m tired of the soapy philosophies. I’d rather hold my head in the sand than up in the clouds. I think it’s time we all grew up and admitted there are the haves and the- have nots and never the twain shall meet.

I’m no Gates or Buffet, but it doesn’t take a mega genius to know that starting a business with little or no money is a recipe for failure. My little hoodia distribution business needed investment from my parents. I was very fortunate to have their support. Did you know that Bill Gates’ parents took out a second on their home for him to start Microsoft? I rest my case. If you don’t have this type of backing, you should look into unsecured business lines of credit. One of these can make the difference between a fruitful and growing business and no business at all.

Where were the unsecured business loans when I set out to take on the world with my Hoodia Supreme? It would have been super to have the funds to hire a few more people and increase my ever-disappearing inventory. I guess a day late and a dollar short really applies in my case. In retrospect, it may be a good thing. I worked it out without external funding. Therefore, I have no loans to service. I don’t think there are many small businesses that can say the same. As always, those of us who have some financial security these days must count our blessings.

I have always been a rather small time entrepeneur. When it came time for my daughter’s wedding, I decided to sell my hoodia distributorship and try something new. I developed a website to sell all kinds of novelty items. I was inspired by a site that my daughter was looking at for wedding cake toppers. I knew that she would love to work on something similar with me. The rest is history. Today, my daughter, my wife and my son have joined with me in this exciting venture. It took only 5 months to turn a profit and we are all having fun being creative with the site.

A day late and a dollar short. The story of my life. Where were all these shortcuts when I started my hoodia distibution business? I pushed more pencils and sweat over more distibutor problems than a tenth grade math teacher. Now they have software that does everything, but butter your toast. They even have event management software for those who plan everything from weddings to car shows. I prayed for fifty hour weeks so I could spend more time with the family. My three year old once forgot who I was when I kissed her good night. With today’s software options, they would probably tell me to get out of the house more often.

The simple greatest thing about herbs like hoodia is that there is no adding or blending of different ingredients to make some kind of secret cocktail to get a desired result. The purity is the key when it comes to herbal integrity. Once I hear that there is some chemical mixing or some secret formula to something that is supposed to be a natural remedy, these warning signals scare me away. One must take paricular precaution when it comes to the under-regulated industry of supplemental herbs. It is very unfortunate, but many liberties have been and will continue to be taken in our dollar oriented world.

With all the posturing and all the fund cutting going on in the US, I am seriously considering taking my hoodia distribution business to beautiful Canada. Being a Southern Californian, it will take a major adjustment to the climate change and the lifestyle. I am, however, willing to take that chance. I have already been looking at some Winnipeg condos. One thing I will absolutely not do is shovel snow or heaven forbid, drive in it. I know the only way I could be happy there is to live in a place that offers nearby conveniences and a staff that maintains the premises.
